All Abilities Programs
Accessibility is not an on/off switch,
but a dial that needs to be turned up
What does "All Abilities" mean?
At the Blue Lotus Center, we strive to make nature accessible for people of all abilities. Our goal is for everyone to come together for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation without limitations. Our “All Abilities Programming” is one way we are working to make that vision a reality. With the the proper support people with cognitive and intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, or other profound life challenges can enjoy our programs in community with friends, family members, and neighbors.
Look for the logo
When you see our “All Abilities” logo next to one of our programs, that represents our commitment to help you find the support you need to enjoy this program just the way you are. As we roll out this initiative, some of our programs may not be as accessible as others, but we will try to make clear what the activities and expectations are like so that you can make an informed decision about whether it is a
good fit for you.
Let us help you
If you need additional support to attend one of our programs, please let us know in your registration form at least one week in advance so we have time to find the right amenities or personnel supports to make this happen. If necessary, our caring staff will try to connect with you to make sure you’re comfortable and ready to enjoy the day with us.

We will do our best to accommodate your needs so you can attend our programs. However, due to limited resources we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet every accommodation. We will meet your needs on a first come first serve basis.
We also encourage you to bring friends and family members along who know you best and can offer you support as needed. You don't have to have a disability to attend, that's what "All Abilities" means!
